Blackhat / Defcon Videos

Have you ever wondered about the people behind Offensive Computing? Wish you could have seen one of our talks at Blackhat or Defcon, but wasn't able to attend?

Poking around on google I found a bunch of links that have videos of various Offensive Computing related talks. If anyone finds a link to the Blackhat Video of HD Moore and myself, please post in a comment. That talk had way more content than the Defcon version. Enjoy!

Danny Quist / Valsmith: DefCon 15 - Covert Debugging

HD Moore / Valsmith DefCon 15 - Tactical Exploitation

Valsmith / Delchi: DefCon 15 - Malware Secrets

Valsmith / Danny Quist: Hacking Malware: Offense Is the New Defense

Scott Miller: A New Bioinformatics-Inspired and Binary Analysis: Coding Style/Motif Identification

DefCon 15 Session Videos

Sorry, but I only got the DefCon 15 DVDs. They were already expensive enough. The want an arm and a leg for that stuff. I think most of your sessions were already part of the first DefCon Session Videos Batch of 47 videos.

I think the last one was part of the DefCon Session Videos Batch II that completed the sessions for track 1

Batch 3 is coming up later tonight with the remaining sessions of track 2 and track 3. The last 25 videos with the rest of track 4 and 5 will follow later this week. Maybe you find some of them useful, even if they don't have you in there :)

Cheers!

hey man

Thanks for posting those videos, that was very cool. Speakers don't even get copies of their own talks :(

Anyway, thanks again!

You know what I wish, I wish that Blackhat / defcon would just take videos of the speakers and provide the slides on the side. I can get the actual slides, I dont need to watch a video of them. I'd much rather see what the speakers are up to.

You are welcome.

You are welcome. Jason Scott had a similar discussion at his blog too hehe. I did also some rambling and made some suggestions for the organizers of DefCon (and Black Hat) in my post for the 3rd batch of videos. Something for them to think about.

I also have the DefCon CDs (btw. I posted a link where you can download the CDs for DefCon 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15) and also the audio only versions. It's a pain in the ass, but I might put something up in table format where you can see the session number, track, title, speakers, link to presentation, link to extras, link to audio and link to video. Maybe I should hire somebody in Asia for $20 (good money hehe) to do that for me after I put all files up. I send a copy of the DVDs to Jason and he will put them up for direct download somewhere on his servers. I will see :)

about Convert Debugging video...

that automated unpacking indeed looks quite nice, how well is it working with multi packs? we know malware samples that are packed ten and more times with different packers... ?

actually no

We haven't come across any samples like that or done tests. if you have interesting samples you want us to test saffron on, upload to OC and point them out, we'd love to test and provide results.
